Westpower is a leading North American rotating equipment solutions provider with services spanning industrial and engineered pumps, fabricated engineered fluid systems, reliability and lubrication products, field service and repair solutions that enhance performance.
The Shipper/Receiver position will report to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the receiving, inspection, inventory and delivery of parts and assemblies that come in and out of the shop.
The hours of this position will be Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
- Visually inspect and photograph incoming and outgoing parts, and complete required documentation for non-conformances.
- Use measuring equipment to verify parts conformance.
- Responsible for incoming, outgoing, and internal deliveries.
- Handle inventory/stock, conduct stock counts, as required.
- Communicate through phone and email to customers and vendors regarding shipping/receiving.
- Input data and information in various operating systems.
- Ensure on-time delivery.
- Able to lift 22.5 kg (50 lbs).
- Load and unload trucks, there will be some bending and twisting.
- Previous Crane and Forklift operation is required.
- When unloading and loading trucks, some components can weigh over 2300 kg (5000lbs)
- Forklift items onto shelving that can be up to 6 m (18ft) above floor level.
- Perform receiving inspections and categorize materials as indicated on Company procedures.
- Must follow all Safe Job Procedures (SJP) and Safe Work Practices (SWP).
- Maintain clean work area.
- Assist with clean-up and organization of the workshop; activities could include, sweeping, shoveling, repetitive lifting of heavy equipment and parts.
- Any other job duties as required.
Skills and Experience
- Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must have previous shipping/receiving and/or warehouse experience.
- Previous Crane and Forklift operation is required.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Previous manufacturing experience and previous experience in a Machine Shop is an asset.
