Overview:
We are looking for a diligent and efficient Shipping and Receiving Clerk to become an integral part of our logistics team. This full-time position is critical for ensuring the accurate and timely handling of merchandise, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining systematic records. You will be a key player in ensuring that our supply chain processes run smoothly and effectively, linking our production, warehousing, and distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the receipt of goods, verifying shipments against purchase orders, and ensuring quality and quantity accuracy.
- Prepare, pack, and ship orders according to customer specifications and company standards, ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain and update our inventory and shipping records, ensuring all information is current and precise.
- Oversee the status of incoming and outgoing shipments, following up on any delays or discrepancies and ensuring timely resolution.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers, transport companies, and internal departments (such as purchasing, production, and sales) to ensure effective communication and problem-solving.
- Inspect shipments for damages or discrepancies; report those to appropriate authorities and record necessary information for reimbursement or insurance claims.
- Organize warehouse space efficiently, considering shipment dates and inventory rotation requirements.
- Use inventory management software and other tools to track shipments and inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Assist in inventory audits and ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Coordinate returns of merchandise, processing restocking or disposal as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Shipping and Receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory management.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to coordinate with multiple teams and external partners.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, international trade compliance, and proper handling procedures for various types of goods.
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and work in various environmental conditions.
- Forklift operation experience is a plus, showcasing the ability to safely and efficiently move and handle materials in a warehouse setting.
- Experience with Microsoft ERP systems is a plus, indicating the capability to utilize enterprise resource planning tools for improved data analysis and operational efficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
