Plumbline Position: Skilled Labourer (SL)
Description: The primary responsibility is to be the skilled help capable and eager to execute on the weekly plans set out by the site supervisors. This person is also a team player who can form a functional and flexible team to get the job done right, on time, and to the client’s satisfaction.
The Skilled Labourer’s responsibilities are carried out in cooperation with the site supervisor:
- Project Execution: to receive direction from the Site Supervisor about daily tasks to be completed, to capably complete them, and to assist general labourers as required.
- Daily Patterns Participation: Setting up sites with proper signage, sign-in table, personal health and safety protections before work begins. Setting up plastic dust barriers, floor protection, or drop cloths to protect the home. Receive task assignments. Check back in with site super for safety concerns, task clarification or on-the-job training. Clean up after completed tasks and before receiving new assignments. Keep busy if the site supervisor is temporarily unavailable by charging batteries, organizing tools and materials, etc. End of day broom clean up and lock up.
- Weeks-End Pattern: To complete a thorough vacuum clean of the site, returning unneeded materials and tools back to the shop. To leave for the weekend with the construction site tidy especially from the street, safe especially for children, and clean especially inside–since that site is the client’s personal space.
- Customer-Relations: to represent Plumbline well by interacting maturely with the customer, speaking respectfully, and leaving subjects about scope/schedule to be handled by the site supervisor. It also involves leaving a positive impression with the customer about the actual work completed and viewed on a daily basis.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a skilled laborer or in a similar role
- Proficient in using hand and power tools
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks
