We are currently looking for hard working individuals who love working on residential and commercial construction projects running structured cabling and assisting on Smart Home and business system installations.

You will lead technology projects in your geographic area and help other territories potentially travelling out of area. You have knowledge of the tools required for the job and have an amazing attitude to get the jobs done.

We are specifically looking for applicants who are able to work daily in the Toronto, Oakville, Uxbridge, Collingwood and Muskoka areas at this time.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a skilled position and you must have direct experience as a technician in the industry. This technician will be expected to help level 1 technicians grow while also continuing to learn from more experienced technicians. You will be responsible for delivering the job and getting the information to successfully complete each phase with your team. This includes all phases of a project: rough-in, trim out, installations and setup of a solid network. You are exceptionally proficient at DIY Smart Home products like Lutron Caseta, Sonos, Nest or Ring cameras and you have experience with dealer installed systems such as Lutron Ra2/Ra3 or Homeworks, motorized shades, Control4 and SAVANT.

3rd party training opportunities will be provided to those who show their dedication and wanting to grow and learn with Cloud 9 AV Inc.

Requirements:

• You are highly reliable. You always show up to work on time. You have high ethical standards, and are able to work independently as well as with others.
• Must be able to climb ladders up to 20’ high
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
• Clean Driver’s license a PLUS
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of video, audio, and control connectors and cabling
• Project Management, Project Documentation and Stakeholder communication skills
• Thorough understanding of construction codes and regulations and all phases of a project
• Equipment Installations: racks and cabinets, network, cameras, speakers, displays, projectors, power management devices,
• Communication System Deployment: telephony, data network, terrestrial antenna, cable & satellite and (RF) TV systems
• Integrated Systems: audio, video, home theatre/cinema/media room, control, security, lighting and other sub-systems
• System Verification & Testing: verify system performance, review installed system and train customer
• Ability to solder is a PLUS but not a MUST
• Ability to repair drywall is a PLUS but not a MUST
• Ability to read system schematics and floor plans/blueprints
• Ability to understand programming systems and interfaces and equipment configuration
• Must be able to work in small spaces and on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work with Windows and MAC OS environments

This job might be for you if:

• You have construction site work experience (other trades qualify...landscape, HVAC, plumbing, central vac, alarm, electrical or others)
• We have great success with Electricians wanting to get into the integration of smart lighting solutions in residential projects.
• You have a passion for the construction industry & working with custom home builders, architects and designers.
• You have experience with pulling, labelling and terminating structured cabling such as CAT6, RG6, speaker wiring, etc

This job is NOT for you if:

• Your prior experience is in the Pro-Audio, Production, Recording or Staging fields
• Your prior experience is not directly related to Smart Home technology and integration
• Are not technically savvy and capable of working individually and as a member of a team

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 60 per week
