The Quesnel Natural Resource District Team provides expert advice and decision support relating to multiple business areas in the District. The Senior Advisor, First Nations Relations will lead the development of positive working relationships with First Nations and develop innovative engagement strategies to advance the provincial economy, create jobs, promote economic diversification, and increase revenue to the Crown. This role is accountable for leading engagement and consultation with First Nations and collaboration with industry partners and other ministries and agencies. Job Requirements:
  • Degree in resource managementor a related field; or
  • Diploma in a related field and three (3) years experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in participating in consultations/negotiations with First Nations.
  • Experience conducting research and analysis related to land use, resource management, social or economic development issues.
  • Experience in policy development and implementation.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in one (1) or more of the following:
  • Experience supervising in a union environment.
  • Experience making recommendations to a statutory decision maker.
  • Experience conducting consultation for natural resource sector decisions.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
