GATHER BOOKSHOP RETAIL ASSOCIATE
Job Description:
We’re hiring a part-time bookseller / people person (also, full-time book lover).
Role Location:
- Gather [Books & Lovely Things], District Wine Village, Oliver BC
Role Objective:
Growing the Gather brand, fostering a love of literacy, maintaining our Oliver retail location with utmost care.
Description of Duties
Retail Operations
- Shelf restocking & inventory support in our Oliver location
- Proactively supporting inventory management
- Impeccable upkeep & maintenance of Gather spaces
- Processing transactions / returns
- Responsibly handling payments (including cash) & relevant reporting
- Facilitating/supporting onsite events as-needed
Customer Service
- Providing an on-brand, excellent customer experience
- Exemplifying a positive & empathetic sales approach
- Desire to learn about & engage with our products
- Assisting customers with product selection
- Displaying a passion for books – in an honest, resourceful, & helpful manner
- Displaying agility & flexibility in an ever-changing workplace
- Openness to dive into additional roles as needed
Kid-friendliness
- Able to undergo a vulnerable sector criminal record check to work with young children
- Comfortable personably engaging with small humans & their adults

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Contract length: 5 months
Salary: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 35 per week
