Job description

Alpha Aviation Inc., operators of the Boundary Bay Airport, have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Airport Operations to join their growing organization.

Based at the Boundary Bay Airport (CZBB) in Delta, BC, this role requires someone who brings strong organizational and great communication skills and a flair for out of box thinking in a fast-paced operational environment. As the Supervisor of a growing team, this position will be very dynamic, where no day will be the same!

The Supervisor, Airport Operations is responsible for supervising and administering all front-line and airside operations staff in a manner that facilitates a positive and safe environment while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the airport, including support to other departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • · Provide day of leadership to operational staff including scheduling of day-to-day tasks
  • · Schedule maintenance and coordinate with airport staff while ensure appropriate reporting is completed
  • · Oversee fuel operations and fleet management
  • · Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements
  • · Assist with customers issues and follow problems through to resolution.
  • · Create/revise departmental procedures, policies and standards as directed by the department’s management team or as required.
  • · Mentor and develop staff members and support a culture of team engagement.
  • · Ensure operating plans are implemented and followed and staff are trained as required
  • · Coordinate emergency response procedures and supervise emergency duties.
  • · Facilitate and provide training to customer service and airside operations staff
  • · Handle/direct enquires and inform clients and tenants of the latest updates and information regarding services offered
  • · Co-Chair in the Health and Safety Committee.
  • · Identify issues and arrange contractors or assist in providing quotes / estimates for general airport repairs and maintenance
  • · Assign duties, supervise, support and mentor Team Leads
  • REQUIREMENTS
  • · 3+ years of experience in managing a team preferably in an operational environment.
  • · Experience in high level of decision making and critical thinking skills under pressure
  • · Ability to collaborate positively with peers, customers and service providers and create positive relationships with clients
  • · Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to work with customer service software
  • · Strong project management skills
  • · Knowledge of management best practices and techniques
  • · Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • · Valid Class 5 driver’s license and the ability to obtain an AVOP license
  • · Excellent people skills and team player with a can do attitude
  • · Flexible schedule, able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • · Ability to support emergency afterhours response

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Supervisory: 3 years (preferred)
  • operations: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Drivers License (5 or 7) (required)
