Duties

The Supervisor, Conditional Release Program (SCRP) works within a regional office and supervises a multidisciplinary team of hearing officers, case review officers and case review assistants. Coordinates and supervises the Parole Board of Canada’s (PBC’s) Conditional Release Programs (CRP) and provides advice and expertise to Board members (named by Governor in Council), the Regional Director General (RDG), regional senior managers, staff, National Office staff, Correctional Service Canada (CSC), Criminal Justice System partners, offenders and the public.
The SCRP coordinates and supervises the completion of file and panel reviews, including the preparation, maintenance and processing of case-related information, entry and extraction of data/information using the Integrated Decision System (IDS), verifying information, obtaining missing documentation, coordinating working documents used by Board members, ensuring procedural safeguards are completed, and recording of reviews and panel decisions, while ensuring legislative timeframes are met.
The position requires on-site presence at least two days a week.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) Bilingual imperative CBC/CBC position that requires a security clearance at reliability level and to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future vacancies, Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB or CBC/CBC.
The pool could be use to staff positions on a permanent and/or temporary basis within the Parole Board of Canada.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives*.
  • The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
  • A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
  • An acceptable** combination of education, training and/or experience.

**Acceptable experience and/or training in a field relevant to positions in the AS classification is required when the education qualification specified for the position being staffed is a secondary school diploma or approved employer alternatives.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
E1: Significant* experience in planning, coordinating, implementing, or managing projects.
E2: Significant* experience supervising or leading or coordinating human resources (ex: supervising,
workload assignment and management, performance management, employee development, leave and others).
E3: Significant* experience giving advice and recommendations to clients, management or
stakeholders regarding interpretation of legislation, regulations, or policies.
  • Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained
performing the duties.

EDUCATION
AED1: Diploma from a post-secondary educational institution in a field related to the position (including administration, paralegal studies, criminology, law or any other relevant field).

AE1: Experience working in the criminal justice field.
AE2: Experience working in a judicial or administrative tribunal.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Willing and able to work overtime as and when required and on short notice
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally
