The branch provides assessment and processing of subsidies for the following units: Child care Subsidy, Income Supplement Program, Disability and Health Supports Unit, Health Services.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Experience providing administrative support for management, scheduling and meeting coordination, tracking events and using bring forward files, receiving, screening and directing inquiries.
  • Experience working with the general public, providing service to diverse clients.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential material.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills including the ability to establish priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and external collaterals.
  • Effective written communication skills with experience drafting and editing correspondence or other communications.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) with the ability to professionally format documents, create and maintain excel spreadsheets for tracking.
Desired:
  • Experience conducting screening assessment for services, including enrolment, other programs and emergency interventions.

Duties:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Support Services, this position is part of a multi position team that provides reception and information services for the public as well as clerical support to supervisors and staff of the Branch. Duties include greeting and triaging the public, handling phone inquiries, sorting and distributing incoming/outgoing mail, managing and responding to inquiries to a public inbox, filing, data entry and other clerical support as required.
