In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations, our Site Services Division is currently hiring for a Support Lead.
The Support Lead will provide technical initiative and project support to their immediate supervisor, lead and participate in cross functional teams, and lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives, provide project support from a customer perspective, prepare and submit business cases and support short and long range business planning for the Department. Duties may include interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, contract management functions and providing staff supervision.
This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and provide ownership of continuous improvement initiatives.
Support project activities from a customer perspective.
Provide input to and support development of 1, 3 and 5 year business planning.
Perform activities associated with the reporting of costs incurred versus budget, including assembly, reporting, and communicating same to staff and others.
Conduct or attend meetings associated with the work function. Be required to represent Section, Department or Division on specific issues within scope of accountability, as assigned.
Lead by example. Promote a conscientious work ethic with respect to safety and productivity. Ensure effective communication exchange at business meetings and in the reporting of feedback and course of events to Manager and stakeholders.
Interface with internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute as a team lead or team member on special projects and investigations, and prepare reports, recommendations, justifications, etc.
Perform other duties as required.
Additional Responsibilities
Provide proposals on specific solutions and technological opportunities to improve oversight and operability of Site Buildings and COS systems as applicable. Provide business cases and cost/benefit analyses to support proposals.
Interface with and provide support to projects as required. This may include interaction with project staff, construction vendors and Engineering personnel.
Support changes in training requirements resulting from technological changes or continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to the development of strategies and work programs.
Requires on-the-job experience with Operation, Maintenance or Projects.
Requirement to demonstrate a high level of leadership capability, business acumen, and manage multiple and diverse initiatives
Requires experience with writing business cases, business planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requires familiarity with the use of manufacturers' equipment manuals and specifications to understand the operating characteristics of equipment and systems.
Requires experience to understand, apply, and utilize Operating Policies and Procedures and Quality Assurance (QA) standards, communications tools, etc, as needed to effectively perform work function.
Requires knowledge of Centre of Site and Center of Site systems
May be required to provide supervision of up to 5 staff.
Education and Experience
This knowledge is normally considered to be gained by completion of Grade Xll + 3 years of further concentrated study in a related field such as Engineering, Operations, Maintenance or Project Management.
6 years up to and including 8 years are considered necessary to gain this experience.
