This is a unique Support Worker position providing care for a 19 year old male with cerebral palsy. I am looking for young Support Workers close to my age with similar interests as me to hang out and have a good time while helping me do the things that I need to do. I am a sports fan (football, basketball, hockey, baseball) and I love to work out and be active. Part of your job would be getting me to my training/physio and sometimes hanging out and assisting me at the gym (training provided). I like going to sports events, movies, and listening to music. I am interested in getting started on social media and am looking for someone who can help with that. If you like to be active, laugh, hang out and discuss sports then this is the position for you. A sense of humor is a necessity for this position. This would be a great position for a kinesiology or nursing student. Hours and days are flexible.
Official Duties:
-Assist with technology including email, social media, etc.
- Provide assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation and personal care.
- Offer emotional support and companionship.
- Help with mobility and transportation needs (including going from White City into Regina).
- Assist with minor household tasks such as cleaning and organizing my space.
Experience: - Experience isn't as important as personality fit; training will be provided on basics of my wheelchair, care etc.
- Knowledge of physical disabilities is an asset
- Strong caregiving skills and a compassionate nature
- Ability to communicate effectively with myself and my family
Must have a valid driver's licence
If you are a caring individual who meets the criteria above, I would love to hear from you.
