The on-site systems administrator we are seeking will play a crucial role in maintaining the organization's essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, and desktops. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, such as installing and configuring software and hardware, managing network servers, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the security and efficiency of the IT infrastructure.
Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of various technologies, including server-level hardware, Active Directory, Microsoft Server Administration, DHCP, DNS, Powershell, and experience with patch management. Working knowledge of virtualization, networking, Linux administration, Citrix, and federated identity management is also required. The ability to automate processes, communicate technical needs for business projects, and experience with pfSense would be considered an asset. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure software and hardware
- Manage network servers and technology tools
- Monitor performance and maintain server systems
- Troubleshoot issues and outages
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Keep up to date technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
- Design or redesign services with a focus on best practices, security, and high availability
Qualifications
o Strong knowledge of the following:
o Server level hardware with ability to recommend solutions from single host deployments to data center upgrade/deployments
o Active Directory in a large multi-domain environment with ability to lead technical aspects of migration of 1 domain into another plus knowledge of group polices
o Microsoft Server Administration (2012/2016/2019/2022)
o Microsoft File and Print services
o DHCP and Microsoft DHCP Replication
o DNS
o Powershell
o Experience with Patch Management
o Working Knowledge of the following:
o Virtualization in an enterprise environment. Experience with VMWare preferred.
o Networking in an enterprise environment with basic understanding of virtual switches, subnets, and vlans
o Linux Administration (Red Hat, Centos)
o Citrix
o Federated Identity Management (SAML, Okta, Azure AD)
o Ability to automate processes or procedures with Powershell scripting or other tools
o Ability to communicate with business leads and explain technical needs for business projects
o Experience with pfSense is not necessary but would be considered an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
