Description
Job PurposeUnder the direction of the Language Training Director, the LTU Team Lead accomplishes the Language Training Programs operational objectives by providing lead hand supervision to language class instruction activities, program administration, and the student intake and placement process. The Team Lead coordinates the purchase and development of materials and resources to assist in providing high quality language instruction. Other duties include counseling and guiding students to ensure their success in acquiring English skills, assisting special needs students, and performing other supervisory tasks.
Education and Experience
Graduate from a post-secondary program in the social sciences, humanities or education.
Either:
a) Significant experience teaching English as a Second Language to newcomers to Canada (preferably in a LINC Program) combined with one year or more of experience supervising language programming, OR
b) a demonstrated knowledge of newcomers to Canada, and three years experience or more in supervising staff, preferably in a work environment serving newcomers to Canada.
Other combinations of relevant experience and qualifications may be considered, but must meet or exceed the qualifications above by equivalency as assessed by program director.
