Working closely with the Operations Manager, the Tourism Assistant is responsible for:
- Be responsible for overall presentation of the downtown core, maintaining clean streets through daily sweeping, maintenance, gardening and painting and handling streetscape complaints
- Answer questions from tourists, visitors, local residents and other tourism industry colleagues, in person, over the phone, via email or online
- Make suggestions on downtown shops, restaurants, attractions, and events
- Provide literature and information on places of interest downtown
- Sell merchandise and downtown dollars
- Distribute print advertising material to downtown shops and external visitors
- Undertake general clerical and office duties
- Put together statistics concerning the number and nature of enquiries
- Participate in downtown events and help market downtown initiatives and promotions
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
