Responsibilities of the Training and Development Manager
- Proactively develop educational strategies to meet the needs of the organization and the clients.
- Partner closely with clients, APS leaders and business area to execute APS’s internal and external educational strategies.
- Manage the team responsible for the education team.
- Implement and evaluate the education strategy, ensuring alignment to the corporate strategy.
- Drive and strengthen process improvements.
- Initiate, plan, and implement learning and Development programs that enhance the overall effectiveness of all employees and support organizational transition.
- Develop and foster client relationships as they pertain to pension plan member and employer education. Conduct developmental needs analysis and assessment through research, focus groups, surveys and client consultation.
- Build an environment where creativity and innovation are valued as a strategic advantage.
- University degree with five to seven years of directly related experience.
- Coaching and team development: ability to build cross-team collaboration and communicate a vision where all team members have a sense of ownership, ensuring that the talent of the team is recognized.
- Strong leadership skills, including prioritization, project management, collaboration, motivation, coaching, mentoring, tactical and strategic thinking.
- An understanding of organizational issues and the ability to adapt own strategy accordingly.
- Strong ability to develop partnerships ensuring excellence in customer service is a priority.
- Leading their team through change and uncertainty
- Experience working in a union environment considered an asset.
- Adjusts thinking and behavior to face change and positively uses experience to fuel growth.
- Embraces failure as a learning opportunity for themselves and others.
- Enables the process of change and transition while helping others deal with the effects of change.
