Job Title: Yard Attendant

The Yard Attendant role involves various task related to the upkeep and maintenance of the yard.

Job Description

• Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner at all times
• Drive a forklift in the yard
• Running errands to pick up parts or materials
• Load and unload materials from the truck to other the locations in the yard
• Material handling and inventory counts
• Operate other machinery if needed
• Loading / unloading vehicles, delivery vehicles.
• During the winter the chosen person must assist in clearing up the snow/salting
• Organizing, staging and prepping material & vehicles on lot for better access
• Daily management and issuing of all equipment and stock needs
• Conduct yourself in a safe and Professional manner when interacting with customers and other Co-Workers
• Manage the yard bin and garbage in office trailers
• Build shelving as required

Job Qualifications and Skills

• Must be able to operate heavy equipment and machinery
• General labour experience Is a must
• Must be open to working outdoors 90 percent of the time
• Must be able to handle heavier loads and materials -50 pound
• Great organization & time management skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Previous shipping and receiving experience are an asset.
• Independent worker that needs little supervision
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Lifting and filing experience.
• Ability and willingness to work long hours when required
