Residential Program Youth Care Worker (Full-time, Part-time, casual, expected start date of March 18, 2024)

Youth Impact Jeunesse is a large accredited and charitable organization that has distinguished itself as a leader in the delivery of residential and community outreach services for at-risk youth. With more than 265 dedicated staff, the agency strives to make a positive difference in the lives of youth and their families by providing support and teaching them helpful skills needed to succeed. Currently Youth Impact Jeunesse operates thirteen residential facilities in seven different communities across New Brunswick.
Youth Impact Jeunesse is preparing to expand services and open a new respite care residential program in Saint John NB. Thisprogramwill be a five-bed facility for children and youth ages 2 – 18, who are associated with adoptive care of Social Development. This service will provide respite care services that meets the needs of these families and the individual needs of youth.
We are currently seeking Youth Care Workers and Personal Support Workers in Saint John, NB. Ideal candidates will have experience caring for children and youth with a wide variety of medical and physical needs, be team players, have good relationship building skills, and demonstrate a passion and desire for ongoing learning in the work they do.
This position reports to the Program Manager.
Job Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to:
- Ability to accommodate shift work hours needed by the program.
- Promote and maintain a safe, non-judgmental, welcoming environment for youth while complying with the agency policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with the youth, families and other professionals associated with the program.
- Ensure the completion of all tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of the program including activities, cooking, cleaning, errands, and appointments.
- Ensure the safety, well being and needs of youth are met and communicated.
- Supervise and actively engage with youth.
- Provide positive emotional support to youth.
- Properly manage group dynamics and behaviours.
- Ensuring proper implementation of intake, care planning and discharge activities.
- Complete and maintain documentation practices of the program.
- Act as a role model to the youth, staff, and community.

Educational Requirements:
- Personal Support Worker designation, College diploma or minimum of two years University successfully completed in a Human Services related field.
Candidates being considered for employment will be subject to Criminal Record Check and background check by the Department of Social Development.
Compensation: $44,470 annually + Comprehensive and competitive benefits package. (Benefits include Eye care, Dental, Life Insurance, Health, Prescriptions, Long term disability and Employee Assistance Program along with an accelerated vacation schedule, Optional pension plan, and other benefits.)
