Youth QUEST Youth Care Worker (One full-time and one part-time, term)

The Organization
Youth Impact Jeunesse is a large accredited and charitable organization that has distinguished itself as a leader in the delivery of residential and community outreach services for at-risk youth. With more than 265 dedicated staff, the agency strives to make a positive difference in the lives of youth and their families by providing support and teaching them helpful skills needed to succeed. Currently Youth Impact Jeunesse operates thirteen residential facilities in seven different communities across New Brunswick. It also offers six community outreach programs within the Greater Moncton area.
Ideal candidates will be team players who have experience and skills related to supporting at-risk youth in achieving goals and finding success in life.
This position reports to the Program Manager.
Job Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to
- Promote and maintain a safe, non-judgmental, welcoming environment for youth while complying with the agency policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with youth, families and other professionals associated with the program.
- Provide case management, client assessment, and pre-employment and employment preparation services to clients.
Assist clients in finding and accessing appropriate services and resources, help identify barriers, and advocate for clients to reintegrate into the education and vocational sector.
- Ensure the safety, well being and basic needs of youth are met and communicated.
- Provide positive emotional support and counselling to youth.
- Integrate with and assist drop-in staff and clientele as needed, including crisis support.
- Ensuring proper implementation of intake, care planning and discharge protocols.
- Complete and maintain documentation practices of the program.
- Input and maintain client data and generate reports on statistics.
- Act as a role model to the youth, staff, and community.

- Skilled at preventing and resolving conflict amongst youth
- Past work experience in the field of youth care work is a strong asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) considered a strong asset
Educational and other Requirements
- College diploma or minimum of two years University successfully completed in a Human Services related field.
- A current Criminal Record Check and SD are conditions of employment.
- MUST have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Salary: $21.38 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
