Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Youth Programs Administrator will assist with the planning, coordination and administrative tasks relating to Civiconnect’s Youth Programs and activities. Taking direction from the Program Coordinator, this position will ensure the smooth operation of Civiconnect’s Youth Programs by supporting program effectiveness and continual improvement.

WAGE: $630 per week.

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: May 6, 2024 until August 23, 2024

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate and assist with administrative tasks relating to Civiconnect’s Youth Programs and activities
  • Assist with creating and organizing the Youth Program content in accordance with program goals and objectives
  • Develop and customize resources tailored to the needs and interests of participants
  • Maintain program-related administrative duties including, but not limited to improving and maintaining Youth Program templates and forms, electronic filing systems and organization
  • Assist the Program Coordinator with fulfilling metrics
  • Organize data related to program attendance, participant demographics, and program outcomes
  • Analyze program data and participant feedback to assess the program’s effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Assist the Program Coordinator to ensure compliance with organizational policies, legal requirements, and industry standards related to Youth Programming, child safety, and risk management
  • Other related duties as required

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to the Coordinator of Youth Programs

WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Hybrid with frequent meetings through Microsoft Teams.
  • Required to be on-site during Civiconnect programming
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Mandatory attendance is required for technical and soft skills workshops.

SOFTWARE USED:

  • Microsoft Office 365

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willingness to learn.
  • Must respect the learning environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Please Note: No prior experience is required, however, knowledge of the following is beneficial.

  • Related professional experience program administration, youth services or community engagement.
  • Educational background in Social Work, Youth Development, Education or related field.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and best practices.
  • Ability to obtain a criminal reference check is required
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Civiconnect receives government funding based on certain eligibility requirements. Please only apply if you meet the following criteria:

  • Must be between 18-29 years of age.
  • Must be enrolled in part-time or full-time studies at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Must be able to work full-time for a duration of 14 weeks.

Must be a member of at least ONE of the following demographics:

  • Racial minority
  • First Year Student
  • Indigenous
  • Francophone
  • A woman enrolled in a STEM program
  • Disabled**

** Includes vision impairment; deaf/hard of hearing; mental health/cognitive condition i.e., depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar; intellectual/learning disorder; autism spectrum; physical disability).

You will need to provide certain administrative documents if offered employment including:

  • Proof of ID (copy of Birth Certificate, Passport, Permanent Resident card).
  • Proof of Enrollment letter from Registrar's office.
  • Completed TD1 & TD1ON form.
  • Direct deposit slip from a financial institution.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months

Salary: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Beamsville, ON L0R 1B0
