This is an exciting opportunity in Wholesale Finance, Capital Markets and Treasury Services Performance Management team where you will play an instrumental role in leveraging RBC’s big data assets to build data pipelines and analytics models, as well as aligning Data Strategy across various functional groups. Data strategy efforts that the team leads are focused on driving forward the “Future of Finance” in efforts to enrich the existing data infrastructure to promote greater value-add insights and advice offered by the team to senior management, the CFO and the Capital Market’s front office. This role will work with various stakeholders in helping to identify business problems, and prioritize them to unlock business value. Our team consists of highly accomplished professionals with various backgrounds in computer science, data, Business analytics, accounting and finance to deliver innovative solutions that supports data-driven decisions.
Job Description
What will you do?
1. Play a central oversight and collaboration role across teams within the Wholesale Finance department. This includes providing detailed data and analysis that will help other teams within the group enhance and transform their existing reporting processes and dialogue with key stakeholders.
2. Apply design thinking and an agile mindset in working with business stakeholders to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on new initiatives.
3. Support data management processes - acquiring, transforming and storing massive volume of structured and unstructured data.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Excellent problem solving and proven analytical skills, with a high degree of initiative
- Basic knowledge of programming in Python and SQL.
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading from a wide variety of data sources.
- Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate multi-tasking skill
- Advance knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Nice-to-have
- Experience with Business Intelligence Reporting & visualizations using Tableau or similar products
- Exposure to Capital Markets products and businesses.
- Experience in RBC Finance/Risk’s big data projects.
