What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a Business Analyst (co-op student/intern) to join the Project Management Office of RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM). Success in this role will require a highly organized, detail-oriented (accurate and thorough), excellent communicator who can effectively collaborate cross-teams, who is solutions-oriented and who thrives in a dynamic and changing environment.
What will you do?
Business Analysis
Developing documents for IT applications, system specifications and test plans, according to existing standards and methodologies.
Eliciting the requirements needed to carry out business processes including interviews, intelligence analysis and survey assessments.
Translating business needs, processes and procedures into a workable system, and articulating on specific software requirements by communicating about these requirements with technology experts and business stakeholders.
Working closely with business architects and other technology staff to deliver project results while implementing risk analysis and meeting required deliverable.
Develop UAT strategy, document test cases and execute testing. Support business clients with post implementation verification.
Perform in-depth data analysis, examination, and reconciliation to flag discrepancies, start upstream inquiries, and prepare respective summaries.
Support with status updates, planning and reporting to senior management, project owners and other stakeholders.
Project Management
Support and manage GAM Modernization Program and initiatives contributing to efficiencies and/or cost savings.
Maintain coordination and collaboration between stakeholders, management and leadership to ensure successful project and initiative completions.
Assist in management of projects and initiatives for multiple stakeholders
Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and other key parties, as required.
Assist with communication with, data collection from, and relationship management of stakeholder(s).
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Candidates must be enrolled in a university and currently in the process of completing an MBA or Master’s degree.
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience with SQL, C#, Java, NodeJS, Python, and Microsoft technologies be beneficial. (school project experience counts)
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with high attention to detail.
Displays strong competencies in relationship management, collaboration, and time management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Able to adapt to dynamic situations and can impact and influence outcomes.
Nice to have:
Experience leading small projects or small/medium enhancements.
Has successfully managed multiple small projects or initiatives simultaneously.
Some experience working on projects with information technology components.
Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
