The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing, monitoring, reconciling and reporting of Capital and Infrastructure Maintenance Renewal projects. This position will assist with the reporting requirements for the Government Reporting Entity and Audited Financial Statements as well as provide support and training to a small number of central decision units.

• overseeing coding of Capital and Infrastructure Maintenance Renewal (CMR / IMR) related transactions and preparing journal vouchers for posting
• monitoring, reconciling and adjusting costs recorded for Capital and Infrastructure Maintenance Renewal projects
• analyzing Infrastructure Maintenance Renewal projects to determine if they meet criteria for capitalization according to division and provincial policies
• liaising with Infrastructure Maintenance staff to monitor work in progress accounts for projects
• reconciling IMR projects information submitted with data contained in the Oracle Projects module
• reconciling the yearly submission to the Government of Alberta with the General Ledger
• ensuring all projects are captured properly within the deferred contributions including funding adjustments for IMR and CMR projects
• advising and assisting central service staff performing accounting functions
• preparing and assisting with the quarterly completion of surplus (deficit) workbooks for forecasting purposes
• assisting in the preparation of working papers and schedules for all external and internal reporting requirements
• assisting the Financial Reporting team in maintaining the Division's internal control and accounting system

• undergraduate degree in a related field
• a minimum of three years related experience
• knowledge of full-cycle accounting principles
• experience with capital project reporting
• excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
• Microsoft Office, Finance Live, Oracle, Google Workspace

$2,863.70 - $3,656.80 bi-weekly

Based on the nature of the role, and through conversation with their supervisor, the successful candidate may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Hybrid work schedules provide eligible staff with the opportunity to work a combination of both onsite and offsite. Staff participating in a hybrid work schedule must be available to work in-person on short notice to meet operation needs.
