Here we grow again! The Schembri Group of Companies is looking to add a Accountant to our team. Our successful candidate will be responsible for accounting activities as assigned by the controller and chief financial officer. This is a long-term position with increasing responsibilities over time and an excellent opportunity for career growth.
Responsibilities include:
· Construction Project Costing
o Code and post Job Invoices received
o Track invoices received against contracts and purchase orders
o Track holdback amount by vendor and contract
o Prepare monthly draw report for lenders
o Prepare monthly Accounts Payable report for the project
· Additional Duties
o Prepare bank reconciliations
o HST preparation and filing
o Participate in month-end close process, including balance sheet account reconciliation and month end journal entries
o Monthly intercompany billing and balancing of intercompany accounts
Qualifications and Skills:
- Accounting Diploma or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years practical experience in accounting
- Excel skills at an intermediate to advanced level
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience in the construction industry is an asset but not required
- Candidates must agree to and successfully pass a criminal record check
