Position Summary
The Accounting Clerk will report directly to the Manager of Accounting and will need to demonstrate the ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced office environment.
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fishermen Payroll, amongst other accounting duties.
Position Information
- Full-time, year-round, salary position.
- Approximately 37.5-hour work week (Monday to Friday).

- Based at our head office in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of sales process – everything from invoicing the customer to arranging shipping (both domestic and international)
- Monitoring accounts receivable and customer credit limits.
- Prepare fishermen and/or harvester settlements.
- Remit fishermen and/or harvester payroll remittances on a timely basis.
- Prepare fishermen and/or harvester T4’s and ROEs as needed.
- Processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy and ensuring timely payments
- Preparation, analysis and posting of daily manufacturing runs in ERP system.
- Reconciliation of system inventory balances to physical counts.
- Assist with other accounting projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
Based at company headquarters in Yarmouth the Accounting Clerk will be expected on occasion to travel to other locations where the companies operate. The Accounting Clerk will be reimbursed for any use of personal vehicle and out-of-pocket costs according to company policy.
Position Specifications
Education and Training
- College diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word and Outlook and Accounting Programs.
- Familiarity with ERP systems would be considered an asset.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
