About the role: The Tax Office Accounting Clerkis responsible for a wide range of administrative, finance/accounting based work to include but not limited to: processing tax cash receipts, various property tax account administrative duties, AP and AR processing, assisting citizens by responding to inquiries, directing telephone calls and supplying information, front counter cash duties, maintaining office records, acting as fill-in for payroll, and providing support to the Finance Services Office staff.
Salary range: $53,594- $62,152 based on a 35-hour work week. Full-time permanent position.

Qualities to succeed in the role:

- Technologically competent: familiar with spreadsheets, accounting/finance software , etc.
- Understanding of basic finance or accounting
Education & experience required:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a finance support clerk position.
- Post-secondary education related to finance/accounting and/or a related field combined with office administrative experience and database operations using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in payroll, an asset.
- Experience in operating a multi-line phone system, an asset.
- Experience in municipal government, an asset.
