Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately processing and recording invoices, maintaining vendor files, and ensuring timely payments. This is a vital role within our organization, as you will play a key part in maintaining financial stability and vendor relationships.
Duties:
- Process Accounts Payable invoices and ensure accuracy of data entry
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Analyze vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Reconcile Accounts Payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files and documentation
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status or inquiries
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any invoice or payment-related issues
- Utilize accounting software (such as PeopleSoft, Sage, QuickBooks) to perform daily tasks
- Perform data entry and clerical duties as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
- Proficient in using accounting software (such as PeopleSoft, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with account reconciliation processes
- - Strong written and verbal communication skills
