About the Position
The Accounting and Compliance Manager is responsible for leading the efficiency, progress, growth, and success of the A&C team and its members within the HUB Financial Center [HFC]. You will be expected to lead and encourage process improvement, collaboration, engagement, and innovation across all departments in the HFC. By driving the HFC Purpose in their responsibilities and how they support their team, this leader will be able to cultivate a culture focusing on our people, protecting the core, building the new, and serving smart. Personal and professional growth is paramount to the success of any role in the HFC and the leadership team is expected to actively participate in their own development while also contributing to the development of their team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, evaluate and develop the team
- Establish, monitor, and report department performance metrics
- Manage the closing process (monthly, quarterly, and annually) related to various Broker management system(s), GL system(s) and any additional acquired systems.
- Manage the timely and accurate preparation and approval of financial statement reconciliations
- Manage the journal entries preparation and approval in the Broker Management Systems and GL systems
- Support the accounting conversion from various acquisition systems into the Hub Broker Management Systems and GL systems
- Liaison with the corporate treasury team as it relates to HFC treasury functions.
- Serve as leadership role in coordinating and reviewing information for internal and external audits.
- Provide direct support to the Accounting and Compliance Director as required
- 7 years of experience in the accounting field
- 5 years of team leadership experience
- Insurance experience is a plus
- Ability to motivate, influence and lead others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results
- Must have flexibility of work hours during peak times
- CPA or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
