Position Summary
We’re looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team. You’ll be an integral part of the finance process by assisting our Finance team. We want our next team member to be versatile, collaborative and results-oriented, along with demonstrating the desire to learn and grow. Communication is a big part of the job, so you must feel confident enough to contribute to the entire process. This position will provide opportunities to hone your skills.

Primary Responsibilities
The specific details of the Accounting Specialist’s role will vary slightly but common responsibilities will include:
- Process Accounts Payable including preparation of payments and maintaining proper records, answering vendor inquiries
- Process Accounts Receivable including invoicing and payments by cheque, automated payments, etc.
- Prepare bank deposits and maintaining appropriate records including posting, reconciling and balancing receipts
- Assist in monitoring member accounts; investigating discrepancies and communicating with members in a professional manner
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements
- Process and pay Employee Expense Reports
- Perform specific Month and Year End responsibilities
- Apply established procedures and guidelines in preparing financial reports, etc.
- Provide administrative support
- Any other project deemed appropriate by the Director
Interpersonal/Leadership Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Business Central, Excel, and Outlook
- Must have a good knowledge of general accounting practices and principles
- Completion of post-secondary education in accounting
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting/bookkeeping position required with a solid understanding of accounting principles
- Strong analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform duties accurately with a level of precision while maintaining a steady workflow
- Capacity to work both independently with little or no supervision or as part of team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information

Salary: $68,380.00-$73,153.00 per year
