Where You'll Come in:
The Accounting Specialist will have a strong understanding of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statements. They are detail-oriented, have excellent soft skills and should also be highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
How you'll Make An Impact: (If this looks enticing, click "Apply"!)
- Perform daily accounting tasks such as accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Review credit memo requests from customers for trade spend related activities
- Process vendor invoices including matching them to purchase orders, confirming accurate pricing/quantities, and coding expenses to appropriate account
- Complete new customer credit applications & monitor credit of key partners
- Review and process employee expense reports
- Ensure completeness of customer invoicing via EDI. Process customer invoices when needed.
- Monitor A/R & A/P balances, send customer statements, and apply cash receipts.
- Manage banking & payments including setting up payment templates, wires, etc.
- Track, back up and organize current company files and information along with record storage
- Assist with month-end activities and year-end audit preparation
- Ad-hoc reconciliation and analysis as needed
- Other administrative duties as required to support a growing business This is a hybrid role based in downtown Toronto and the candidate must be able to work in-person 2-3 days per week.
- You have 3-4 years of experience in a similar accounting role; or 1-2 years of experience combined with a University degree in Accounting
- Excellent soft skills
- Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals
- Pursuing a CPA considered an asset
- Strong Excel & Outlook skills
- Experience with Netsuite or other ERP system considered an asset
