We are looking for an Accounts Payable and Payroll Clerk to join our team!
Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable and Payroll Clerk is responsible for managing the Accounts Payable process, efficiently managing payroll processes, maintaining financial records, and supporting various accounting functions within the organization. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of invoices and payment of employees while adhering to accounting and Payroll software such as QuickBooks and ADP.
The AP and Payroll Clerk will be responsible for the following:
- Receive, review, and process incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Prepare and process weekly or monthly payment runs, including checks and electronic transfers.
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and issue resolution.
- Cultivate positive relationships with vendors to ensure smooth transactions and timely payments.
- Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all Accounts Payable transactions.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts and preparing reports.
- File HST. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to Accounts Payable.
- Calculate and process employee salaries, wages and deductions accurately and on time by using ADP.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly. Stay updated with payroll tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
- Assist with yearly audits by providing relevant financial records and documentation.
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and handle inquiries from employees and vendors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an AP Clerk, Payroll Clerk, Accounting Clerk, or similar role using QuickBooks and ADP or similar software.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations is preferred.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Effective communications and interpersonal skills.
