Basic Function and Scope:
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Administrative Assistant – Student Placement Navigator is responsible for supporting effective partnerships between Ontario colleges, universities, students, and Lennox and Addington County General Hospital.
The Administrative Assistant – Student Placement Navigator will develop, maintain, coordinate placements for students, and support day-to-day placement operations at Lennox and Addington General Hospital.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (with flexibility to meet the needs of the Hospital)
Responsibilities
Key Functions Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting students from beginning to end of placement;
- Works with the leadership team to create an industry leading Student Placement program that provides experience and job placement opportunities for new grads;
- Develops and maintains relationships with college and university field placement coordinators;
- Prepares ad hoc reports;
- Arranges orientation for incoming placement students;
- Ensures file compliance;
- Follows-up with students to ensure completion of end of placement evaluation.
- Ability to comply with policies regarding confidentiality, privacy and record keeping;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- MS Office proficiency, required (PowerPoint, Word, Excel);
- Accurate and advanced typing/keyboarding skills;
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and undertake multiple tasks;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully;
- Ability to organize work assignments, deal with frequent interruptions, meet
- deadlines and work independently;
- Discretion and sound judgement in handling confidential matters is required;
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision as a team member;
- Demonstrated creativity, initiative and enthusiasm;
- Criminal reference check completed within the last 6 months, required
- Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma;
- Completion of post-secondary education in office administration.
Experience:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in detail-orientated administrative support work
Physical Requirements:
