Administrative Services

Located in Truro, Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia (DFNS) provides regulatory and Administrative Services to Nova Scotia's dairy producers. DFNS licenses producers and milk transporters, sets the farm price for milk, and administers the production quota system, which is a cornerstone of the supply management system. DFNS currently has 195 members located on farms from Port Morien to Yarmouth. Together, they produce over 206 million litres of high-quality milk each year.

Key Responsibilities:

- Bookkeeping tasks (invoicing, payables, receivables and reconciliations) using Sage Accounting

- Provide administrative support to the office staff and management team

- Prepare documents, newsletters, presentations, correspondence, and reports

- Perform data entry tasks, including order entry and updating records

- Provide in-person and virtual event planning/meeting support

- Manage office supplies, inventory, and equipment maintenance

- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries

- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Qualifications:

- Degree / Certificate / Diploma in Office or Business Administration

- 3 years experience in an administrative role

- Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Sage

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed

- Diplomatic and customer service oriented

Compensation:

- Starting annual salary between $55,000 and $65,000
