Job Summary

The Analyst, Indigenous Relations provides a range of services in support of the Indigenous Relations Team, including administration, financial tracking, research and client services. Under the direction of the Senior Advisor and/or the Director, the Analyst, Indigenous Relations works with ministry staff regarding support on consultation files and ministry related issues within Indian Reserves and traditional lands claimed by First Nations.
Additionally, the Analyst contributes to the smooth and efficient day to day operation of the Indigenous Relations section. This includes establishing and maintaining administrative systems: track, monitor and report on consultation and financial processes, completing and analysing historical research, budgets and work priorities, consultant contracts and continuously evaluate and improve business processes.
Job Requirements:
  • Degree related to Indigenous Relations, Natural Resources, planning, geography, public administration or an equivalent; OR,
  • Diploma related to Indigenous Relations, Natural Resources, planning, geography, public administration or an equivalent AND two (2) years of related experience may be considered; OR,
  • Certificate related to Indigenous Relations, Natural Resources, planning, geography, public administration or an equivalent AND three (3) years of related experience may be considered; OR,
  • Secondary School graduation or equivalent (GED) AND four (4) years of related experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience working with First Nations communities.
  • Operational experience with highway infrastructure.
  • Experience with property acquisition, surveys, contract services, and tenure related negotiations.

Proviso
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
