Position: Agronomy Division Dispatch & Inventory Control – Full Time, Oakwood Ontario
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch drivers, trucks and other service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using direct personal contact, telephone and/or email
- Receive or prepare work orders, relay work orders, messages, and information to or from operation crews and supervisors necessary to achieve successful execution of job orders
- Identify and evaluate any special requirements for each load and determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications
- Implement Sky Dispatch
- Direct warehouse staff to organize orders as needed
- Ensure orders are staged the day prior to scheduled delivery date, including chemical for custom applications
- Track equipment and spreader locations
- Monitor personnel and/or equipment from other locations and utilization in order to co-ordinate service and schedules
- Responsible for monitoring drivers in relation to their remaining hours of service and equipment as to its availability
- Follow-up with the manager for arrangement of any necessary repairs to equipment in order to restore service and operation schedules
- Responsible for completing inventory counts on a monthly basis, bi-weekly in the busy season
- Work with agronomy manager & admin to resolve any count irregularities
- Track chemical usage for custom applications daily
- Assist in answering phones and directing calls to the appropriate sales staff
- Assist with walk in customers and loading product from warehouse as needed
- High school diploma (minimum) or degree in transportation or logistics
- Must be willing to learn company specific computer programs and possess a working knowledge of Iphones/Ipads
- Ability to work well under pressure, employing effective decision-making (judgment) under sometimes stressful and unpredictable circumstances (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Ability and willingness to work additional hours to meet business demands.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Must be able to read and write English.
Other Job Functions
- Responsible for maintaining company equipment according to company standards.
- Adheres to the company Uniform Policy and maintains the appropriate professional image.
- Responsible for conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment, scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
