The Analyst, Data & Information, reporting to the Manager, Asset Development – Schaft Creek, will support GIS and data management on Schaft Creek Project. The position is based in Vancouver, Canada.
The candidate should be proficient with industry leading database and GIS applications, have a solid understanding of information and file management procedures and guidelines, and will facilitate continuous improvement and innovations in acquisition, storage, management, access, integration, and analysis of a wide range of spatial and time series data. The candidate should have a general understanding of Geoscience and Environmental Data Management. A demonstrable ability to collaborate with and contribute to strong multidisciplinary teams is crucial, as well as maintaining good relationships across similar disciplines within and outside of Teck.
 
Responsibilities
-Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental standards.
-Provide technical support and training for end-users of GIS software, including production of technical instructional guides and manuals, delivering training material and documenting workflows as require.
-Act as an administrator in Teck’s ArcGIS Online system, maintaining data/metadata standards and naming conventions, production and maintenance of web maps and web applications. Maintaining system and database health, license allocation and addressing issues as they arise.
-Support design and implementation of data management and integration workflows, queries, automated on-line technical and business reporting, and other methods of providing content to users in a balanced and scalable manner from multiple data types and sources including a variety of technical data, information and content types including: GIS, IoT sensors, maps, geologic sections, photos/videos, vector models, remote sensing data, satellite imagery, environmental and social baseline, virtual reality, documents and relevant administrative and commercial data etc.
-Collaborate with office, field and operations-based employees to understand business objectives and to provide guidance and advice for the efficient, appropriate and cost-effective management of project information throughout its lifecycle.
-Support implementation of new data capture tools as appropriate maximizing mobile and cloud solutions where possible and appropriate to facilitate real-time coordinated data driven decision making.
-Perform quality assurance on generated results to carry out data integrity and ensure metadata and spatial data standards are maintained.
-Administer enterprise database systems for drilling and sampling (acQuire), spatial GIS content (ESRI), 3D modelling (Leapfrog Central) and other related content (SharePoint, etc) where applicable.
-Assist with design and implementation of automated workflows, on-line technical and business reporting as required via the use of enterprise business intelligence tools.
-Support the development of O365 standards and best practices to ensure effective and appropriate use of tools. 
-Understand how to set goals and prioritize tasks in order to achieve business results.
-Seek out and advises on trends in new technologies and best practices in GIS data management and makes recommendations on value added spatial initiatives.

The above accountabilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Qualifications
-At least 3 years experience in GIS and database applications at an advanced level. Specific experience in the resource industry would be an asset.
-Bachelor in Earth Sciences or Geoscience discipline and/or specialized certification in GIS. A post-graduate degree is considered an asset.
-Experience and proficiency with SQL databases is required (implementation, management, querying). Knowledge of python scripting is preferred.
-Experience developing custom apps and tools including roll-out, education and sustainment planning.
-Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required. Proven ability to work effectively within numerous diverse teams.
-Able to work with minimal supervision; results orientated with excellent organizational, planning, prioritization, problem solving and execution skills.
-Ability to travel from time to time as needed. 
-Specific software suite abilities preferred for the role are:
-Experience with ESRI’s Arc Enterprise systems is strongly preferred including implementation and management of ESRI spatial data environments and related tools (e.g ArcMap, ArcPro, Portal, ArcGIS online).
-Extensive experience within the Power Platform, including PowerApps, PowerAutomate, O365 and SharePoint.
-Knowledge of mobile field collection platforms including ArcGIS Collector, Field maps and Survey123.
-Experience in data analytical and dashboarding programs including Power BI and ArcGIS Insights.
-Experience with spatial data querying and processing especially within the ESRI environment is preferred.
-Experience with FME (server and desktop) for spatial file conversion and automation tasks.
-Experience and skills in other relevant GIS and 3D software (ioGAS, Leapfrog,  Krux, Imago, MX Deposit).
 
Pay Range: $82,000 - $101,000
