The Operating Engineers’ Benefits Plan is recruiting for the following position to provide
Administrative services for our Benefits department in the Burnaby office.

Job Title: Full-time Permanent Benefits Administrative Assistant
Hourly rate of pay: $34.52
Location: Burnaby, BC
Hours: 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday; 9:00am to 4:30pm (1/2 hour lunch)

Key Responsibilities:
- Answer Benefit related enquiries from members via telephone, email or in person.
- Process deposits for self-payments and employer reports benefits and pension.
- Data entry to produce various monthly and employer reports.
- Review and enter Trust Fund reports.
- Upload data reports to finance department for payments.
- Maintain filing system.
- Mail out Pension adjustment letters to employers annually.
- Open and distribute incoming Benefits and Pension Plan mail.
- Backup duties include processing enrollment applications and Weekly Disability
Benefits.
- Other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- A post-secondary diploma in business administration or relevant discipline preferred.
- Customer Service experience an asset.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an Administrative Assistant Role.
- Benefits Plan administrative experience an asset.
Requirements:
- Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and
Excel).
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills together with a customer services focus and a professional and respectful approach.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and effectively deal with changing situations or priorities.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong team player and the ability to function in a multi-tasking environment in a professional and timely basis.
- Must display courtesy, discretion, and understanding in dealing with member situations and confidential matters.
