Job description

Overview:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant – ensures that day-to-day finance and administrative processes are executed with a high degree of detail and accuracy. This position supports Salmar operations by performing general and financial administration, business marketing and operational support. This position would be Monday to Friday from 9:00-14:00. Pay rate $21-$23 per hour.

Key Accountabilities:

General Administration

  • Coordinates day-to-day administrative activities, such as spreadsheets, forms or financial statements.
  • Supports inventory management and ordering for theatre or office supplies as required.
  • Completes box office and other reports.
  • Creates and maintains records and databases with personnel, financial and other data.
  • Acts as a resource, providing financial assistance and administrative support to the Salmar operations team as needed.

Business marketing and operational support

  • Supports the GM with development and delivery of communication and public correspondence.
  • Collects information about movies or productions and assists the GM with coordinating bookings, show times and theatre schedules.
  • Coordinates marketing materials and collateral.
  • Updates the website and social media and coordinates advertising.
  • Coordinates and monitors information line (voicemail) and customer service inquiries.

Finance Administration

  • Oversees timecard administration and coordinates payroll.
  • Manages bookkeeping processes including daily entries and reporting.
  • Completes bank deposits, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Completes month end reporting process.
  • Prepares financial statements and other reporting.
  • Supports budget processes as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bookkeeping Certificate
  • Sage Accounting experience
  • Hard copy and electronic file management
  • Strong attention to detail
