As the Buildings Infrastructure Engineer in the Facilities Asset Management Planning division, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing asset management strategies and processes for Facilities. You will manage the building condition assessment (BCA) program, gather data, manage quality assurance reviews, and provide data to internal parties. Primary duties include:
- Manage the facilities condition assessment program.
- Work with internal parties to manage the quality assurance process and act as the single point of contact for internal and external parties.
- Develop and maintain the Facilities Technical and Strategic Asset Management Plans.
- Collaborate with other partners to recommend annual investment priorities for the Facilities service line.
- Monitor the short and long-term progress of the Facilities Asset Management program and ensure management and organizational objectives are met.
- Research and implement best practices in the fields of facility condition assessment and root cause failure analysis.
Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering, preferable with a Civil, Structural or Envelope Engineering field, registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada, and current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or licensure by the first day of work.
- At least 3 years of post-professional engineering (P. Eng.) experience, including a demonstrated proficiency in asset management business processes, encompassing the development of strategies, business cases, economics, and business process mapping.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) and access to a personal vehicle for business use is required.
- Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of municipal asset management practices, an awareness of international asset management practices, and/or experience with asset management software.
- The successful candidate must be skilled in clear communication on technical, operational, and business issues to multiple audiences; thrive when working independently; have robust negotiation and relationship management skills; and actively participate in collaboration with both internal and external parties.
Working Conditions: Office environment with occasional field work.
