Business Architect (Duck Creek)

Role Overview:

Cognizant requires a Sr. DC Senior Business Analyst who demonstrates strong leadership abilities, is knowledgeable in the P&C software industry, and can work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This employee will work with large implementation teams and will be encouraged to work in a team setting, providing mentorship to less senior team members, communicating status to the client and project coordinator, and help keeping the project moving from a requirement aspect. Employee will independently ensure that the quality of a developed product has met the acceptance criteria for client delivery by providing in-depth knowledge of approved business and testing requirements, insurance, and technical aspects of Duck Creek products.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide guidance in the understanding of the insurance product and business needs of the customer.
  • Generate and deliver informational and well-organized presentations
  • Effectively work with a diverse group to include executives, managers, and domain experts.
  • Understand the business issues and data challenges of the customer and collaborate with the team to build and present solutions.
  • Lead meetings with partners to resolve priorities and critical path items vital to achieve defined objectives according to plan.
  • Ability to collaborate with a cross-geo business and technical team when nonstandard requirements / customization requests are identified to provide alternative business solutions and work around to meet the client’s needs.
  • Ability to assist with program management activities such as Identification of project risks and collaborate with the team to implement mitigation plans that follow through to risk closure.
  • Experience in handling and prioritizing a product backlog from inception through implementation launch to include full program dependency planning to ensure cohesive delivery across the program lifecycle (Items such as integrations, client led deliverables, etc.)
  • Ability to deliver clear, concise, and transparent status to internal project management team
  • Understand project lifecycle activities for requirements, implementation, and maintenance
  • Ability to lead daily stand-up meetings for BA/Tech/QA team members if team size requires
  • Coordinates assignment of activities to other business analysts to help gather/document requirements or issues
  • Provides mentoring / coaching to less senior business analysts
  • Collaborates with team members (business, technical, quality) to ensure clarity and understanding of the business requirements, success criteria and outcomes desired by the client

What You Bring to the Role:

  • More than 10 years of proven track record working in P&C domain with more than 7 years working in Policy Admin application and should have demonstrated ability in ISO Commercial Lines.
  • More than 4 years or demonstrated experience in DC Policy.
  • Strong analytical abilities and solid experience doing requirements elicitation, drafting requirement artifacts, meeting with business partners to define project goals.
  • Experience using SQL, XML, Confluence and JIRA to support customer implementations.
  • Solid understanding in SAFe and Scrum Agile processes and use of MS Office.
  • Duck Creek Suite BA Certification (or) DC Policy BA Certification preferred.
