Department Overview

If you have business field experience, architecture/consulting experience, or technology delivery experience serving business customers, and are interested in meaty challenges and big picture multi-dimensional thinking, we want to hear from you!
The Business Architecture team is responsible for understanding and guiding a rapidly evolving line of business within a complex federated enterprise. Business Architects elicit and articulate business vision & strategy across key perspectives (eg: people, process, technology, etc), develop and ratify expressions of the "target state", and guide key decisions and stakeholders towards a common vision & outcomes.

Job DetailsReporting to a Senior Manager, Business Banking Architecture, the Business Architect, is accountable for the following:
  1. Steward & articulate the target state experience for assigned scope/portfolio (which can be a project/program, business capabilities, journey, platform, etc).
  2. Support, evaluate, & recommend solution placement options with applicable stakeholders, assess alignment or progression of each option towards target state, endorse/ratify target state placement, evaluate offside decisions, and articulate remediation paths where offside decisions are made.
  3. Steward & define multi-dimensional roadmaps to influence investment planning.
Job Requirements
  • At least 5 years of direct field user experience and/or project delivery experience with ANY of the following is required for this role:
    • Credit Origination / Credit Underwriting applications.
    • Credit decision engines/credit risk scoring models.
    • Client Relationship Management applications (eg: SiebelTM, SalesForceTM, etc).
    • Pricing & profitability analysis applications/tools.
    • Billing applications/tools
    • Security/Collateral Management applications.
    • Financial Spreading/Financial Analysis applications (eg: MoodysTM, etc).
    • Projects that deliver regulatory change (eg: CASL, GIEM, Basel, etc.)
  • A broad view of Canadian Business Banking and a reasonable understanding of its products, processes, strategies, capabilities, enabling technologies.
  • Strong communication, consultation, facilitation, collaboration, & presentation skills.
  • Ability to elicit and describe a business and its vision/strategies across key perspectives (eg: those defined in BIZBOK TM).
  • Ability to bring the "big picture view" into day-to-day design & project delivery.
Additional InformationOther Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
  • Post-secondary education.
  • ANY of TOGAFTM, Certified Business Architect (CBA)TM, International Institute of Business Analysis (CBAP TM), and/or Scrum Alliance CSMTM certifications are an asset.
  • ANY of the following are assets to this role:
    • business field experience serving or selling to business customers (eg: sales manager, relationship manager, credit origination/underwriting, credit adjudication, fulfillment, servicing, etc),
    • experience designing, architecting, building, delivering, or implementing solutions (in any capacity or job family).
    • consulting experience (eg: in capacity of a System Integrator),
    • General knowledge of TD products, systems, processes, and platforms is an asset.
