Our Business Development Specialist is primarily responsible for providing our lawyers with the proposal materials and strategies to help them win new business. The Specialist will respond to RFPs by preparing materials that showcase our firm's expertise, legal teams and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. The Specialist will also promote the firm by positioning our lawyers for nomination in various directories, awards and rankings. In addition to proposal writing, the Specialist will work directly with our lawyers to provide strategic support for client presentations, initiatives, events and conferences. The Specialist will report into our fantastic Associate Director, Business Development and be part of an incredible team!

Key Responsibilities:
- Proposals:
- Drafts, assembles, and proofreads strategic proposal documents that are compelling, engaging and client-centric
- Works collaboratively with lawyers and other members of the Business Development team to develop winning proposal themes and business content
- Note: Our lawyers present proposals to our clients - the Specialist's role is to provide support to our internal lawyers and in that sense, this is not a 'sales' role
- Awards and Directories:
- Works with the Business Development team to prepare submissions to Chambers and other legal directories, awards and rankings
- Researches and writes content for nomination submissions
- Proactively coordinates content and approvals with the lawyers involved
3. Other Responsibilities:
- Conducts business intelligence and market/competitive research
- Facilitates Business Development initiatives, including client presentations and seminars
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in professional services
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Communications, Marketing, Business, Law or Journalism is preferred
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of the legal industry and market
- Ability to manage multiple work requests simultaneously by effectively prioritizing and planning out work
- Sense of urgency and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate and work effectively across all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, lead and learn
