Job description

Salary:

Growcer is the Canadian leader in the design and manufacturing of modular hydroponic systems. We provide solutions that enable commercial food production in virtually any climate, thereby empowering businesses, entrepreneurs, communities, institutions, and conventional farmers to grow food locally throughout the year. Growcer's work has been recognized with awards including Fast Company's World Changing Ideas and the Entrepreneurs' Organization and was featured on Season 13 of CBC's hit show, Dragons' Den.

As we enter our next phase of growth, we're seeking a dynamic Business Development Representative to join our team and focus on the Indigenous market. Effective Growcer employees are tenacious, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and are comfortable working on big-picture challenges with lots of autonomy. All positions and work responsibilities tie back to our mission of empowering people to feed the world more sustainably, and applicants who are laser-focused on contributing to the creation of a better food system will find a workplace and team that shares their vision for sustainable agriculture.

Job Description:

As a Business Development Representative - Indigenous and Community Relations Specialist at Growcer, you will play a crucial role in expanding our reach and impact within Indigenous communities across Canada and the US. You will work closely with Indigenous partners, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities for Growcer's farming solutions to create positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation:
    • Initiate top-of-the-funnel lead-generation activities to support account executives in identifying potential customers.

    • Collaborate with the revenue team to extend Growcer's reach within Indigenous markets.
  • Prospecting and Qualification:
    • Conduct discovery and qualification calls with prospective Indigenous clients.
    • Clearly and effectively articulate Growcer's value proposition, generating excitement and interest within Indigenous communities.
  • Events:
    • Attend national and regional conferences relevant to Indigenous markets and sectors.
    • Identify and engage with potential clients and partners during these events.
  • Collaborative Initiatives:
    • Work with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and solutions for Indigenous markets.

Qualifications:

  • A proven track record in Business Development or a similar role within Indigenous markets.
  • Self-motivated and independent, able to take initiative and quickly adapt with minimal direction.
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures, land use, traditional knowledge, and leadership structures.
  • Exceptional communication skills, unafraid to initiate conversations and influence others.
  • Resilient and adaptable, thriving in a rapidly changing and growing environment.
  • Candidates who self-identify as Indigenous are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.

Growcer is an equal opportunity employer committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
