- Leads and is responsible for the onboarding (orientation) program for all new staff, including an introduction to firm software and firm policy and procedures
- Work with IT team to organize necessary arrangements for new hires
- Workforce planning, inclusive of; managing workflow including vacation and sick leave coverage
- Complete staffing needs analysis when gaps have been identified within a practice group and make recommendations
- Attendance management
- Lead professional development and facilitate training initiatives
- Provides guidance and mentorship related to professional development and role specific training
- Ensure that required training is provided and continuous learning opportunities are sources and presented to employees
- Lead resource development initiatives
- Work with practice groups to facilitate the development of precedents, resource guides and work procedures which will form part of firm training
- Participate on various committees (Technology committee, CFDI, including sub-committees, PG Clerk Meetings, and others as necessary)
- Job Descriptions - development and maintenance of job descriptions
- Reviewing staff dockets for consistency and anomalies
- Wellness coordinator - develop a wellness program for the Frim and lead initiatives and continuous development and maintenance of the program
- Participate in performance reviews and wage and salary administration of employees
- Supporting organizational change initiatives and assist with the change management processes
- Prepare reports on various HR metrics
- Back up to Payroll using ADP
Qualifications:
- 4+ years progressive experience in a Human Resources role that involved training and Development is considered an asset
- Prior experience working in a Law Firm is considered a strong asset
- Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong and tactful verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information and communicate with all levels of management.
- Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and work independently in responding to day-to-day functional needs.
- Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
- Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
1 day per week WFH available after the successful completion of the probationary period.
