Shifts are Tuesday - Fri 8am -5pm and Saturday 9:30am -6pm
Minimum 4 years professional baking experience required.
this position is salary with benefits and 2 weeks vacation included.
We are looking for someone to join our fast-paced bakery. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the cake inquiry emails and bookings.
- fullfilling the cake orders, maintaining the cake components.
- overseeing the espresso bar and cash.
- tracking part of the overall inventory for the bakery.
- Working with large quantity recipes and following protocols.
- Assisting in various tasks for the bakery, making dessert bases, shaping doughs, sourdough breads, fruit toppings, buttercreams etc
- Working with various vegan food mediums, including sandwiches, mock meats, sauces, vegan meringues, etc
- Packaging wholesale orders that go out.
- Packaging up frozen in production items such as cakes, croissants, toppings, etc.
- Lifting heavy packages (20+ kg)
- Adhering to proper food handling guidelines and safety protocol.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the workspace (a task shared by everyone on the team) by tidying the kitchen, sorting/washing dishes, organising stock, sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, cleaning equipment, and any other duty as needed.
- Must be capable of working independently, ie early morning bake shifts or closing shifts
