We are looking for creative and high energy individuals who enjoy the responsibility of working with children (4 years to 12 years). In this role you will help develop and initiate fun, action-oriented camp curriculum, execute weekly programing, and supervise campers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Welcome campers at drop-off and pick-up while greeting parents along with taking roll call throughout the day.
· Participate in activities with campers based on skill level, and age of participants.
· Actively supervise assigned campers, learn their names on the first day.
· Ensure the safety, supervision, and security of all participants in your care at all times.
· Act as a positive role model in attitude, health, and wellness for campers and fellow staff.
·Clean-up area after campers lunch and snack times.
· Provide a fun and enriching experience for all campers and interact with the campers in a positive and supportive manner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience or education in working with children or previous camp experience
· Able to communicate effectively in English and French
· Police Record Check (vulnerable sector, for candidates 18 years of age and older)
· Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
· High level of knowledge in a variety of sports and recreational activities.
· Ability to provide support and instruction to children and youth
· Being responsible for campers requires constant focus so cannot be easily distracted.
· Calm, dedicated, patient, kind & dependable.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· A problem-solver and ability to go with the flow.
· Enjoy being with and having fun with children.
· Excellent time management skills
