1 ‑ Part Time (.8) ‑ Clerk III
Health Records
Reporting to the Manager ‑ Health Records, the Medical Records Clerk maintains the incomplete patient record file
area. Assists physicians in completing deficient records. Provides reports on the status of incomplete records.
Notifies physician and administration on the number of outstanding records. Supports the data quality of patient
index systems for the hospital and provincial databases. Responsible for providing clerical support in preparing
patient charts for Oncology Clinic visits, including the processing of physician orders. Performs scanning functions
and electronic moving of patient records. Retrieval and faxing of documents as required.
Qualifications:
* Graduate from a Medical Office Administration Program or equivalent
* Familiarity with Meditech Incomplete Records application and other software programs
* Recent and proven experience with processing incomplete records
* Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy while processing high volumes
* Working knowledge of medical terminology
* Strong decision‑making and problem solving abilities
* Team player with ability to achieve results working in a co‑operative manner
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Ability to work under pressure with time constraints
* Ability to multitask and set priorities
* Knowledge of Meditech ADT system is preferred
* Computer proficiency in a Windows environment
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to perform repetitive tasks
* Utilizes excellent customer service skills when answering and directing telephone calls and inquiries
* Willingly floats and functions throughout the department
Salary Range: $26.588 to 27.221
