Clerk Typist 2 – Committee & Records

The District of Kent is offering an exciting opportunity in our Corporate Services Department for a Clerk Typist 2 – Committee & Records. Under the supervision of the Executive Assistant, and the Director of Corporate Services, the Clerk Typist 2 will perform diversified clerical tasks entailing the exercise of considerable independent judgment and action.
Key duties associated with this role include:
- Assisting with all aspects of Committee meetings including set-up, preparing agendas, resolutions, typing minutes and keeping track of information on spreadsheets, forms and action follow-up.
- Attending Committee meetings and advising on procedural matters during such meetings and follows up on actions and decisions (where required).
- Preparation of correspondence and notices.
- Retrieval and return of records from storage.
This position coordinates and has overall responsibility for the District’s paper records management system including the creation of new primary, secondary, and tertiary file numbers. This position also guides and assists staff with procedures relating to the paper records management system including retention periods and annual records destruction according to Local Government Management Association (LGMA) rules.
The wage rate for this bargaining unit position is $29.33 per hour. Upon successful completion of the required probationary period the wage will increase to $34.50 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package.
