Clinical Supervisor - Temporary Full Time (Maternity Coverage - 15 Months)
Hourly Wage rate: $39.58 to $52.86
The Clinical Supervisor supports the Clinical Managers in ensuring the quality of clinical care provided to the patients by the clinical staff. They work collaboratively with the inter-professional team and families regarding patient-centered care and related issues. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor leads, develops and delivers clinical orientation and ongoing education to ensure competence of staff and compliance to all legislative, regulatory, organizational, accreditation and sponsor requirements. They also lead the education, auditing, and submissions for coding (i.e. MDS and NRS). Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing functional, administrative and operational support to the Clinical Managers
- Providing clinical orientation and ongoing training of staff
- Analyzing quality indicators to determine trends and appropriate quality improvement activities
- Determining needs within the interprofessional team and developing and implementing plans to address gaps in knowledge and capacity.
- Overseeing the medication management program, including assisting with the investigation of medication incidents and the development and implementation of corrective action, ensuring that appropriate interventions are followed through and required documentation is completed.
- Overseeing the wound care program on the care units and providing education and direction to staff as appropriate.
- Participates in the identification of clinical or operational performance improvement and risk mitigation opportunities and assists in performance improvement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Advanced knowledge of gerontological care, preferably with experience in a rehabilitative care environment
- Advanced knowledge of infection control
- Strong clinical skills including IVs, PICC lines and wound care best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of adult learning principles and experience in the delivery of education in various formats.
- At least three years of experience as a front-line Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse, ideally with supervisory or management experience.
- COVID-19 Vaccination (2 Doses) is required to work at our facility.
