To assist the Trail Community Family Services by providing families and individuals in need with Community Services. Assist in planning and coordinating Community and Family Services programs for the summer/fall. Assist with fundraising efforts for the family and Community Services programs. Help serving meals and cleaning the food truck.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Services and Programs
- Conducts initial intake assessments for client assistance. Booking in Client Appointments according to policy
- Maintains confidentiality and keeps accurate client files on Link2Feed and statistical records.
- Prepares and provides Family Services statistical reports at a frequency requested by the Corps Officers.
- Maintains a list of relationships with other community agency services to assist with appropriate client referral to meet identified client needs
- Assigns and coordinates work of Family Services volunteers as directed by corps officers and CMD.
- Other work-related tasks/duties as requested for the good of the Ministry Unit.
Food Pantry/ Warehouse:
- Ensure all pick up and deliveries are being done in a safe manner, and recorded
- Organize the warehouse; ensure rotation, and food being moved to the packing room and lobby in a timely manner
- Ensure bins, floor, cooler, and freezer, are clean daily and take out garbage
- Ensure that aisles, exits, and receiving area clear
- Ensure safe handling and use of dollies and carts when moving products, maintain social distancing, no eating, etc.
- Ensure the freezer and coolers are organized appropriately so the product is accessible and rotated and the temperatures are recorded. Report any deficiencies to the CMD
- Ensure the product is available to hamper packers
- Responsible for pre-established food donation pickups/ scheduling.
- Maintains weekly inventory control
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
- Completion of high school diploma.
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
- Up to three months of related experience.
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- First Aid/CPR, Food Safe, Driver’s License are an asset.
- Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
- Able to work cooperatively in a team setting with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a professional distance when dealing with clients.
HOURS:
- 80 Hours bi-weekly
- Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean drivers abstract.
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
