We have an immediate opportunity for a Contract Operator south of Drayton Valley (Brazeau area). The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to effectively participate as a team member in the operation and maintenance of our gas wells and facilities. The operations team ensures the maximum performance of mechanical, instrumentation and facilities while managing the day-to-day operation of wells, pipelines, multi-well batteries, field booster compressors and sour gas facilities.
Work Environment :
The shift is 8 days on – 6 days off working a 10 hour work day and willing to take callouts as required. The successful candidate must reside in the Drayton Valley / Lodgepole area.
Responsibilities :
• Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of CVE's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System
• Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Models and coaches on behaviors to help a safety culture in which unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken
• Understand and perform safety, environmental and regulatory responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lockout, emergency response and implement safe work procedures
• Promotes a culture where setting goals, achieving and measuring results is expected
• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Must be able to operate and troubleshoot Pump jacks and have knowledge of pump off controllers (POC’s)
• Maintain books for accounting.
• Support and champion the MOC (Management of Change) system
• Perform housekeeping, performance monitoring and maintenance activities
• Must be able to meet all the Operators roles and responsibilities as per CVE document.
Qualifications :
• Operating experience is an asset but not required
• This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment testing
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Utilize computer programs without assistance (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SAP)
